Ford's new Supertruck takes flight over Pikes Peak: A look at the 1400 horsepower superbooster

Can you imagine what a mix of a pickup truck and a supercar would look like?

Ford
Ford has proven that the future of electric vehicles is amazing and can also set pulses racing. Ford has taken to the Pikes Peak Hill Climb with its new F-150 Lightning Supertruck, and it's so fast it's ready to blow your mind. Let's get to know this unique vehicle.

Lightning roars over Pikes Peak
Ford shared information about its new race truck a few weeks ago, but now we have a detailed look and jaw-dropping specifications. With a whopping 1400 horsepower, this supertruck is based on a tri-motor setup that draws power from a STARD UHP six-stage electric motor.

Romain Dumas, who drove a van and clocked 8 minutes 47.682 seconds at Pikes Peak last year, will attempt to break the old record with this supertruck. He is looking forward to the challenge of seeing if the truck can climb the hill even faster.

Design: Cartoonish, but powerful
The design of this truck may surprise you. The triple-element front wing, headlight ducts, side diffusers, and multi-element rear wing make it look like a machine straight out of a science fiction movie. And it's not just show-off; all these aerodynamic elements provide 6000 pounds of downforce at 150 mph.

To stop this truck, Ford has used carbon ceramic brakes, which help it to decelerate quickly. Magnesium forged wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires and a custom in-board suspension design provide it with exceptional stability.

Livery: Classic Ford Style
The Ford Supertruck's livery matches the Ford Performance design, making it easy to spot on the 14,115-foot mountain on June 23. The unique device was created in partnership between Ford Design and STARD Advanced Research and Development, and every aspect of it was designed to perform optimally on a track as difficult as Pikes Peak.

Why is it so special?
Ford's move reflects the growing interest in electric vehicles. With 1,400 horsepower and state-of-the-art aerodynamics, it proves that electric powertrains are not only good for the environment, but they can also be tremendous in power and performance.

Will this Supertruck break records? Is this really the future of electric vehicles? To answer this question, we'll have to watch Romain Dumas as he flies up Pikes Peak with this Supertruck.
