Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 130Y: 'Centennial Explosion' on the Track

2024 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 130Y
AFFALTERBACH, Germany — Mercedes' famous 'Monterey Car Week' has once again wowed racing enthusiasts, this time in Germany, with a new special edition of the Mercedes-AMG GT3. Honoring 130 years of racing heritage, Mercedes-AMG has introduced the 'Edition 130Y Motorsport', which is not only a unique track car but also a performance beast.

This new edition is one of Mercedes' fastest and most impressive racing cars. It is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine that can raze any track with 671 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. In addition, it has a unique exhaust system that sets it apart from its competitors. By taking advantage of the Drag Reduction System (DRS), this car can achieve a top speed of over 196 mph, and new aerodynamic features, such as a large front splitter and wide rear wing, make it unique.

Not just the performance, but also its design will impress onlookers. The paint scheme and blue and white plaid fabric upholstery inspired by the 1952 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL make it look stunning. In addition, the owner of the car will also receive a custom car cover, a 1:8 scale model, and a matching plaid bag, Puma racing gear, and a Bell helmet.

Importantly, Mercedes will build only 13 special editions, retailing for 1.03 million euros (about $1.14 million). This limited edition is ideal for racing enthusiasts who want to add a unique and iconic racing car to their collection.

With this special edition, Mercedes-AMG has not only carried forward its racing tradition but also set a new standard on the track.
